Day 01
Lisbon, Portugal

Meet your private driver at Lisbon International Airport and transfer to H10 Duque de Loulé, your historic boutique hotel for the next 3 nights.

This evening join your expert wine guide and Sommelier, Ryan Opaz in the hotel lobby and leave towards Baixa located in the heart of Lisbon.  Enjoy a special welcome dinner at a farm to table modern Portuguese Restaurant, serving the best Portugal has to offer, from sea to land.  After dinner, explore Lisbon’s nightlife on your own or return to the hotel for a restful night’s sleep.

Day 02
Lisbon, Portugal

After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, meet up with Ryan for a day of visiting the iconic markets in Lisbon.  Here you will meet a professional chef at one of the markets, meet some of the vendors, learn about Portuguese produce, and learn how to cook a Portuguese meal. The cooking class will be as hands-on as you want it to be.  The remainder of the afternoon and evening is free for you to explore Lisbon on your own.

Day 03
Almocageme, Colares, Lisbon

After breakfast, depart for Almocageme, Colares, a demarcated wine-growing region where you will visit one of the oldest wineries in the village for a tour and tasting.  Then shuttle towards the beach for an indulgent lunch of exceptional fresh fish at a Michelin starred restaurant.  After a luscious lunch, drive back to the hotel. Along the way, make a stop for an iconic picture at Cabo da Roca, the wild and rugged headland that marks the most westerly point of mainland Europe.  The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 04
Dão DOC, Portugal

Check out of your Lisbon hotel and drive toward the stunning Dão Wine Region.  Today we will visit one of the most famous wineries in the area and delight your senses with a wine tour, tasting and lunch paired with magnificent wines.  Their vineyards date back to the 16th century!

After lunch enjoy a scenic drive to Sentar (the Portuguese region of Centro).  Check into Valverde Santar Hotel & Spa (Relais & Chateaux), for the next 2 nights, located between the Estrela and Caramulo mountains. The rest of the afternoon/evening is yours to unwind at the hotel and explore the lovely gardens and grounds.

Day 05
Dão DOC, Portugal

Enjoy a late brunch this morning and take advantage of the hotel facilities.  Then meet Ryan in the lobby and drive towards a wine estate in the Dão region for a premium wine tasting.  The estate has earned a number of excellent wine awards, including a Top 50 Best Portuguese Wines recognition.  Our next winery stop nestled against Portugal’s tallest inland mountain region, the Serra da Estrela, includes an exceptional tour and tasting.  Here we will stay for a private dinner in the renovated century-old textile factory consisting of a regionally sourced menu paired with amazing and unique wines.

Day 06
Douro Valley, Portugal

Check out of your hotel after breakfast and drive towards the picturesque Douro Valley.  We will make a stop at a small local farm cheese factory and experience an impressive cheese interactive workshop.  Meet the cheese maker and fashion your own curds in this hands-on class.  A delicious traditional regional lunch at the farm will include luscious local wines.

Check into the Vintage House Hotel for a 2-night stay, before leaving for the village of Pinhão for a decadent dinner.

Day 07
Douro Valley, Portugal

Your wine experience today will begin with a drive to a family-owned winery, located in the picturesque town of São João da Pesqueira in the Douro Superior wine region.  Family members will lead you on a walking tour and an intimate wine tasting and lunch with wine.

Next on the route is a stop at a grape and wine vinification farm for an authentic grape-treading experience! With a badge of honor and wine-stained feet, continue on into the vineyard-rich countryside of Ervedosa do Douro.  Here you will be treated to a unique wine-tasting experience and an outdoor BBQ Portuguese dinner with hand selected local wines.

Day 08
Vinho Verde, Porto, Portugal

Check out of your hotel after breakfast and leave toward the historic Minho wine region, or what is known today as Vinho Verde.  Along the way visit a 17th century family estate in the Lima Valley spread over 50 acres of land. Learn about the artisanal pressing process and spontaneous fermentation in clay amphoras lined with beeswax.  Enjoy a wine-paired lunch on the large patio shaded by a vine pergola.  Afterwards, shuttle to Porto and check into the amazing Vincci Ponte de Ferro for 2 nights, where tonight your evening is free to relax or explore the area.

Day 09
Porto, Portugal

Wind down your Basque adventure with a special treat – a private walking food tour in Porto.  You’ll be taken to several tasting locations to enjoy ten traditional and iconic Portuguese foods and learn about the families and history behind each establishment.  Return to the hotel to relax before joining Ryan and the group for a farewell dinner at a Port Wine Lodge founded over 100 years ago.

Day 10
Porto, Portugal

It’s time to say a fond farewell to Portugal, your fellow travelers and guide at the end of this exhilarating Portuguese experience.  After breakfast, check out of the hotel and take a private transfer to the Porto International Airport for your final destination.

Originally a 19th century winery, this 5-star hotel is located right on the river in the tiny town of Pinhão.  Surrounded by hills and mountains covered with grapevines, each guestroom has its own private balcony with panoramic views of the Douro Valley.

2 nights: September 3 – 5, 2025

This unique hotel occupies several old buildings spread out on a steep slope between the Serra do Pilar Monastery (known for its panoramic view of Porto) and the quays of Vila Nova de Gaia, the port cellar district.
